'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' Episode 11: Rara and Jun reunite after he fakes sickness, will she accept him?
'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' Episode 11 begins by taking us to the moment that Jun was captured and taken back to Seoul from Eunpo by his mother and his father. Rara feels betrayed at the moment because she believes that there was nothing that she knew about Jun. So, even as one month passed, the most that she had tried to do was to distract herself from thinking about him. Ha-young and Seung-gi can clearly see that she is being stranger than usual but there is nothing that the two of them are able to do. Instead, they try to be with her and support her through the tough time of not having Jun with her.
Jun, on the other hand, is completely imprisoned within his home and there is no way that he can leave. Not without breaking out of the prison that his father seems to have built for him. However, Jun tries new ways to leave every single day and until he fakes being sick, he is left to live in his house where everything is delivered to his room -- be it meals or education. His plan to even act like he was sick is something that occurs as a result of learning that his friends from Eunpo have arrived.
Of course, it was because Rara had shed tears right after seeing his letter to her that the two had decided to create a scene in front of Jun's mother and teach her a lesson. However, both Seung-gi and Ha-young had assumed that the letter was from Jun's mother and not Jun himself. From believing that the envelope contained a wad of cash to thinking that Jun's mother had threatened Rara to make her cry, Ha-young has many theories and based on this she tells Seung-gi that it is time to go to Seoul.
She also tells Seung-gi that they should beat Jun up for not getting in touch with them after having reached Seoul. Of course, neither of them is aware of the fact that Jun is imprisoned so they do find his address and end up making it all the way to Jun's place. However, Jun's mother intercepts their message to Jun and even tells the housekeeper that she is not to allow any strangers within the house. Not just that, from afar, both Ha-young and Seung-gi panic when they see Jun being rolled out in a stretcher to a hospital as he is taken directly to Sunwoo Foundation hospital.
They panic and follow the ambulance while Rara, in Eunpo, is blissfully clueless about whatever Jun is going through. Even when she tries to brush knowing Jun as a chance encounter and nothing more, the grandfather who had begun learning to play the 'Maiden's Prayer' tells Rara that she does know Jun, and in fact, she knows him better than he knows himself. So when she decides to shrug off the fact that Jun hadn't gotten in touch with her, Rara tries her best to tell herself that her connection with Jun might not even be true. At this point, it is this old man who tells Rara that she had always known the real Jun. So of course she didn't realize that he was a runaway student or that he was only a highschooler, but is that really something to hold against him? Rara comes to the conclusion that it may not be.
The episode also reveals that Jun's best friend and Rara's bestfriend's brother are the same person and Rara learns about his death from her best friend and realizes that this young boy was someone that she had met during her rehearsal. The boy who dies after an accident and left Jun in a hopeless situation turns out, is the "No 1" fan of Rara and when she sees the boy's picture she recalls everything about that day and this includes meeting Jun. She realizes that the wedding was not the first place where she had met him and slowly, she also begins to accept Jun's decision to hide things from her. So instead, Rara finds solace and company in Jun's house instead. She also does something nice for the grandpa who owned the buildings in the neighborhood and arranged to have a special performance on the day of the first anniversary with her friends. There is love in his version of 'Maiden's Prayer' and everyone in attendance feels the sincerity in the music. That's when we realize that it is the person who builds either love or hatred around a song and not a belief system or even religion for that matter.
When Rara is contemplating everything, she remembers the letter that she had received from Sunwoo Foundation and turns out Jun had attached a sheet with music for the song that he had played for Rara the day he had said to her that he liked her. He then sends the music sheet to Rara's home and this mean act brings Rara to her knees because she has been trying to forget him and move on, but that is not happening. At this moment, she begins to play the song that Jun had played to her while he had confessed and at that point Jun ends up visiting Rara. Turns out, he left the hospital with his friends Ha-young and Seung-gi's help. Now, we will have to see if Rara and Jun will really meet again.
'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' will air on KBS2 on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Seoul, South Korea, and can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
