LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Pratt is known for his many roles including Andy Dwyer in 'Parks and Recreation' and Peter Quill in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. The actor, along with his acting, is known for his voice roles in 'Ben 10: Ultimate Alien' and 'Onward.' Recently, Pratt received a barrage of criticism for voicing Mario in 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie.' Fans are not thrilled with actor voicing such an important character but the actor urged fans to watch the movie and then form an opinion.

On April Fool's Day, Pratt responded to the backlash to Mario in a prank that may have backfired. The actor, criticized for not having an Italian accent to play the character, got back at detractors in a hilarious way. He took to Instagram to have little fun and shared news of voicing the most iconic animated character in the history of Disney.

Chris Pratt's 'prank'

While Pratt found a way to fool his fans on April Fool's Day, the prank became a nightmare for Disney fans. He shared a post on Instagram with Mickey Mouse's picture. The caption read, "Proud to share that I will be The Lead Voice in the upcoming film adaptation of Disney's Mickey Mouse! Get ready for it to hit the big screens in 2025." Unsurprisingly, some people fell prey to the prank and were saddened by the news. Later, the actor cleared the air by stating that it was a prank by commenting "APRIL FOOLS" under the same post.



 

Fans were not amused

Pratt seems to have dug his own grave now as fans of all franchises started dissing him. A fan wrote, "@GraceRandolph He's Mario and NOW @prattprattpratt is GOING TO BE MICKEY MOUSE?!?! Ugh. Whhyyyyyyy???!! Chris Pratt doesn't even do voices!" A fan commented while roasting Pratt, "@JamesGunn if you ever cast @prattprattpratt in a @DCOfficial film you should cast him as Booster Gold," while another Mario fan added, "Omg #ChrisPratt playing Mario 3 was just embarrassing. He's playing the character and can't play the game?" A fan tweeted, "Don’t worry about #ChrisPratt #mario voice fiasco,someone is going to use voice cloning tech to put #CharlesMartinet’s voice in there." Lastly, a fan shared, "Is this an April fools joke?"



 



 



 



 



 

Nevertheless, 'Super Mario Bros. Movie' is making its way to the theaters. The movie will release on April 5. The actor will also star in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3', whoch releases on May 5.
