Disgraced singer R. Kelly turns himself in, faces 70 years in prison for aggravated sexual abuse
R. Kelly turned himself in on Friday night after he was charged in Cook County, Illinois with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Till date, the R&B singer has repeatedly denied all accusations made against him. He will appear in bond court on Saturday afternoon. The arraignment has been set for March 8. Anthony Guglielmi who is the Chicago Police Department Chief Communications Officer took to Twitter to make the announcement.
Anthony wrote, "Singer/songwriter Robert Kelly (R. Kelly) is under arrest and in #ChicagoPolice custody in reference to the indictment announced by Cook County state's Attorney Kimberly Foxx. The defendant will appear in court tomorrow afternoon."
The Cook County state attorney Kim Foxx revealed in a press conference that the 10 counts of criminal sexual abuse reportedly involved four victims. Foxx shared, "Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a class 2 felony with a sentencing range of 3-7 years per count."
