'RHOA' Season 14: Do Marlo Hampton's nephews still live with her? Kenya accuses her of giving them away

In a brand-new 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 14 mid-season trailer, Kenya makes disparaging remarks about Marlo taking care of her nephews

Marlo Hampton has been both lauded and thrashed by fans on social media this season for her treatment of her nephews. However, in an explosive mid-season teaser, she is seen calling Kenya Moore "trash" and other pejoratives when the latter makes snarky remarks about how she is taking care of her nephews.

An explosive new midseason teaser for 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' shows the drama intensifies. Particularly, on-screen fights between Marlo Hampton and her co-stars Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss are evident. Marlo referred to Kenya as a 'b***h' and 'trash' during a particularly contentious conversation during the sneak peek. When Kenya made a snarky remark about Marlo taking care of her nephews Michael and William, the animosity between the two ladies escalated.

Marlo mentions her two teenage nephews, Michael and William, whom she brought into her house in 2019 while their mother dealt with some life situations, saying, "No one in this group would take me away from Michael and William." Kenya answered, "Yeah, cause you gave them away." Marlo retaliated by calling Kenya "trash," which put a stop to the argumentative exchange.

The other Housewives were surprised by Kenya's remark, but none of them appeared as surprised as Marlo, who said, "B****, you're trash!"

Are Marlo's nephews still living with her?

Madame Noire reports that Marlo was granted full custody of her nephews when her elder sister was taken to the hospital for bipolar illness and schizophrenia. Marlo has been caring for her nephews for the past two years. However, in the most recent 'RHOA' episode, which aired on June 26, a preview clip for the next episode showed Marlo contemplating kicking her nephews out of the house if they don't listen to her. Kenya accusing Marlo of evicting her nephews in the new teaser strongly suggests that the latter may have truly kicked the boys out of her house. Fans were outraged by Marlo's words. They rushed to social media after the episode aired to vent their displeasure. Calling Marlo "emotionally stunted" a fan wrote, "Marlo is so emotionally stunted. It shows up in how she argues and how she deals with her nephews and sisters. She can try to slap designer labels on it but that’s never going to fix it. #RHOA."

Another fan wrote that Marlo got them siding with Kenya after seeing her treatment towards her nephews: "Marlo has a real nasty spirit & been this way since she was on #RHOA not surprised at her kicking out her young nephews & she got me agreeing with Kenya smh."

Another fan reprimanded Marlo for abandoning the boys in light of their mother's mental health issues. Their tweet read: "Marlo kicked her nephews out after insisting their mother remain institutionalized and knowing they have nowhere else to go?! #RHOA."

However, one fan felt that Marlo has made the right choice so as to try discipline her nephews. They wrote: "Unpopular Opinion: I’m not mad at Marlo for kicking her nephews out. If they not listening to her then they need to get out. she’s not obligated to put up with their disrespect. #RHOA."

However, 'RHOA' viewers may breathe a sigh of relief because Marlo seemed to still be living with her nephews. Since filming for the season began in October 2021 and ended the following year in February 2022, probably, things were not going so well at the Hampton house at the time and Marlo had to send her nephews away at some point. On the other hand, Marlo appears to be quite active in her nephews' life these days. In fact, according to Bravo, Marlo made sure Michael had a great birthday celebration on June 27 by adorning a Houston hotel room with blue, white, and silver balloons as well as balloons that said "Happy Birthday." In addition, Marlo gave her nephew some sweets and a mocktail. Marlo also posted a birthday greeting for Michael on her Instagram profile. “I couldn’t let the day end without wishing the happiest of birthdays … to my nephew Michael!!! [15] You have been working so hard at crushing your goals, #honorroll #newjob … so now it’s time to celebrate!!! Let the Houston turn up continue!!” she posted alongside a picture carousel of him.

Marlo marked the second anniversary of her nephews residing with her on April 4, 2021.“Today we celebrated 2 years of being a family under the same roof … Time is moving fast." She happily added, My boys are getting so big!” next to a photo of herself with Michael and William.

Except for Marlo calling Kenya a "has-been" behind her back and accusing her of having "slept with half of Hollywood," Kenya and Marlo have gotten along well this season. However, as the season progresses, their friendship changes. Marlo previously disclosed to Page Six that Kenya was not overjoyed when she received a full-time peach after serving as a "friend of" for ten seasons. Marlo informed the publication in April that she didn't think Kenya was all that pleased. “I feel that was all just smoke and mirrors or whatever. I feel deep inside that she didn’t feel that I should have [a peach]. She didn’t want me to be her equal or sitting on the couch next to her.”

Kenya responded a month later, claiming that while Marlo was an "ex-con," she was an "icon," about reports that Hampton was jailed at age 23. Marlo's buddy NeNe [Leakes], who departed 'RHOA' in 2020, was also criticized by her for wanting to "be like a NeNe [Leakes]."

Fans will have to wait until the season's finale to find out if their friendship survives their latest dispute! Season 14 of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' airs Sundays at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
