Denise Fergus, the mother of murdered toddler James Bulger, has finally spoken of her relief that a film which was made about the brutal murder of her son did not win an Academy Award.
'Detainment', a short film based on the police interviews with the 10-year-old child killers Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film. Venables and Thompson became household names in Britain when they abducted and killed 2-year-old James Bulger on 12 February, 1993.
