Daytime Emmy 2022 full winners list: 'The Young and Reckless' and 'General Hospital' score big

CBS' 'The Young and Reckless' bagged the tag of most Emmy nominations, rounding up to about 18

The 49th annual Daytime Emmy went down with a bang. The in-person ceremony took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, located in California, and can house up to 3000 guests. The 2020 ceremony was held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and last year a pre-taped cut-short event was staged at Burbank. This year's event was hosted by Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner. The event kicked off with Turner's direct dig at the Supreme Court's overruling of Roe v Wade on Friday, June 24, saying, "I chose this dress. It was my choice." Needless to say, the crowd erupted while giving her a round of applause. The show went live on Friday, June 24, at 9/8c on CBS and ParamountPlus.

This year, CBS' 'The Young and Reckless' bagged the tag of most Emmy nominations, rounding up to about 18. It was closely followed by ABC's 'General Hospital' with 17 nominations. The two giant broadcasters, ABC and CBS, both tied with 31 nominations, followed by Netflix with 27. This year's Daytime Emmy handed out 14 awards with a lifetime achievement award to 'Days of Our Lives' star John Aniston, father of Jennifer Aniston. Moreover, for the first time since 2014, The Daytime Drama category finally expanded to 5 nominations thanks to the 'Days of Our Lives' spin-off 'Beyond Salem.' This year, 'Jeopardy!' also bagged an award with their new host Mayim Bialik who wasn't really liked by the audience at first.
