Charles Manson wanted to kill '2-3 billion people' as part of his bizarre plan to save the planet

A new book called 'The Last Charles Manson Tapes: Evil Lives Beyond the Grave' by journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett features some other outlandish schemes by the cult leader.
UPDATED DEC 12, 2019

Charles Manson's bizarre interpretation of the Beatles' 'White Album' to coin the term 'Helter Skelter' for what he said was an inevitable apocalyptic race war, has arguably been topped by his plan to kill "two or three billion people" as part of a twisted strategy to save the planet.

The now-deceased leader of the infamous 'Manson Family' is said to have explained his plan during one of the last recorded interviews he gave before his death at the California State Prison in Corcoran in 2017, according to Radar Online.

Those interviews are now a part of a new book called 'The Last Charles Manson Tapes: Evil Lives Beyond the Grave' by journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett, which also feature some other outlandish schemes by the cult leader.

His claims about killing half the planet's population came at a time when Manson had adopted some extremist views on environmentalism and had radical ideas on how humans can save the planet.

When told by the authors that there are "too many people" and that "we could lose two billion, three billion easy", Manson reportedly responded, "Yeah, why aren’t they doing it? It’s all right to kill those people. The preacher will tell you that."

"I’m the chain of command on the other side," he continued with his bizarre rant. "So, let’s put some uniforms in my command. That’s why I got flesh and blood. Blood dripping off my jaw, talking about, ‘Thou shall not kill. Praise God,’ all that horse****."

In another one of his ploys, Manson explained how all humans should become self-sustaining and should stop chasing after money and material wealth.

"People don’t seem to understand, you can’t eat money," he said. "If you grow your own food then what are you feeding anyone else for? They’re all destroying you. If you don’t grow your own food, you don’t eat."

The book also covers Manson's final years, when his mental health reportedly deteriorated further. The book is now available for purchase.
