Cops raid Heather Locklear's house in search of a gun
Law enforcement officers paid Heather Locklear's house a visit a week after her domestic violence incident in order to secure a gun they feared she might use.
Heather Locklear's Thousand Oaks, CA home was raided by police looking for a gun - that she threatened to shoot them with after she was arrested for a domestic violence incident involving her boyfriend on February 25, TMZ reported.
Law enforcement officers told TMZ that cops paid a visit to Locklear's house with a warrant, looking for a weapon that she had registered back in 1985, but despite searching the premises, they came away empty-handed. This was a safety measure they took after she threatened to shoot them following her arrest for the felony of domestic violence and battery against three police officers.
The 56-year-old actress was arrested on February 25 when her brother called 911 to report a case of domestic violence after he arrived at the actress's home to find her engaged in an altercation with her boyfriend. TMZ reported that law enforcement officers noticed a visible mark on her boyfriend following the fight.
When the police officers attempted to take the actress into custody, she became aggressive and flailed out at the officers, kicking and striking three of the respondents. The attack resulted in her being charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery against an officer. Once the actress was subdued and handcuffed, she was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
Officers did not mention if substance abuse was involved, but sources told TMZ that Locklear was heavily intoxicated when she was taken into custody. The actress has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs in the past, and she was also involved in a misdemeanor hit-and-run incident involving a
parking sign in 2010.
This is also her second domestic violence incident since 2011, when she and her then-boyfriend Jack Wagner reportedly exchanged blows but decided not to press charges against each other. She has been in and out of hospitals and rehab before for her various dependencies as well as to treat her anxiety and depression.
