Comedian Heather McDonald FRACTURES skull after collapsing onstage at Tempe Improv set

Comedian Heather McDonald, 51, collapsed during a show in Tempe, Arizona, on Saturday, 5 February. The star took to her Instagram and addressed her fans from the hospital. She had suffered a skull fracture after falling on stage at Tempe Improv.
The comedy star's show began at 7 pm and she was performing on the stage for approximately three minutes before she suddenly collapsed.  

She was taken to a local hospital where tests revealed no underlying medical issues. Heather McDonald insisted that she’ll return to Tempe for her future shows just to make up for the one she fainted in. McDonald was tested for Covid and remains negative. McDonald in her Instagram post said, "So, I’m in the emergency room, I look weird.” She continued, “Oh my God, I’m so, so, so, so sorry,” explaining she had “passed out on stage.”

“I got up, I did one joke and I felt so dizzy,” McDonald recalled. “You can see my eye; I fell on my eye. Oh my God, I cannot believe this happened, I feel so terrible that they had to tell everyone to leave and then cancel the second show. I’ve never, ever fainted in my life,” she said.

McDonald also posted on her Facebook page on Sunday with an update on her condition. She wrote: “Here is the Update for Heather McDonald: Heather performed at the Tempe Improv on Friday night, Feb 4 with no incident. She spent Saturday morning uneventfully with her son. On Saturday night, Heather began her 7 pm show at the Improv, she was on stage for approximately 3 minutes and suddenly collapsed. As a result of the fall, she suffered a skull fracture. She had consumed no alcohol prior to or during the show. She was admitted to a local hospital where comprehensive work up underway. Thus far the tests have revealed no underlying medical issues that may have precipitated this event. Approximately 3 weeks ago Heather had her COVID booster. She was tested for COVID and remains negative.”



 

The star told the media that she “may have lost consciousness because of dehydration.” Many from her audience thought her collapse was part of the comedy act.
