'The Naked and Famous' reveals March US tour dates, fans complain their countries did not make the list
'The Naked and Famous' have announced an upcoming tour of North America on March 11 along with bands like 'Circa Waves' and 'Luna Shadows' supporting the fiesta. The New Zealand indietronica band which has been based in Los Angeles since 2012, consists of Alisa Xayalith, Thom Powers, Luna, and David Beadle.
The band will embark on the 12-date trek which kicks off on June 11 at the Neumos club/music venue in Seattle and then will run through Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles; Denver; Chicago; Minneapolis; and New York. The tour will wrap up at The Sinclair gastropub/music venue in Cambridge, Massachusetts on July 1.
The upcoming tour comes in support of the band's latest studio album, 'Recover', which releases on May 8, according to Billboard.
'The Naked and Famous' have become a largely successful group with their unique synth-pop, electronica take on indie music since their debut in 2007. They have produced numerous hits such as 'Punching In A Dream', which peaked at No. 18 on Billboard 200, 'Hearts Like Ours' at No. 26, and their biggest hit 'Young Blood', off their 2010 LP 'Passive Me, Aggressive You', which peaked at No 9 on the chart.
The announcement came from the band's Twitter account and although fans were keen on the news, the majority of replies were from disappointed fans that the group weren't performing in their states or countries. Texas was mentioned a few times with one fan saying, "no texas :(((( f**k i'm so sad!!!!!! (sic)". Numerous locations in the U.S. were mentioned as fans wanted to see their favorite band such as San Francisco, Detroit, Missouri, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Tampa, and Nashville.
One fan says, "Once again a tour plays DC and NYC, but says nahhhh to Philly, the 8th largest city on the continent, right in between". Countries mentioned include Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Europe and Canada.
In conclusion, 'The Naked and Famous' needs to add more locations to their touring pile.
