What is the plot of 'Cindy la Regia: The High School Years'?

Pretty much like every high school comedy out there 'Cindy la Regia' revolves around an angsty teenager railing against tradition. In this case it's Cindy from San Pedro Garza García who is off to a co-ed school for the very first time. This opens up her world far more than she could imagine and has her asking all those questions parents dread. But Cindy isn't just your ordinary high-schooler, filled with dreams and aspirations she wants to be so much more than her school, but can she navigate high school politics and familial tradition?

'Cindy la Regia: The High School Years' cast

Michelle Pellicer

This is Pellcer's breakout role and first impressions are very impressive indeed. The Mexican actress -- who plays the lead role of Cindy -- looks supremely comfortable on screen and is certainly one to look out for in the future.

Is 'Cindy la Regia: The High School Years' a prequel?

Yes it is. It's a prequel to the 2020 Mexican hit comedy movie 'Cindy la Regia'. In the movie Cindy is played by Cassandra Sánchez Navarro, better known for playing Flavia in the series 'Quiero amarte' and Penelope Zapata in 'La bella y las bestias'.

Is 'Cindy la Regia: The High School Years' worth watching?

If the cut-throat world of high school shenanigans is your cup of tea then this one is most certainly for you. But remember that Latin shows tend to be grittier than their American cousins, so be prepared.
