What is the plot of 'Christmas Revisited'?
A group of friends meet up in a "remote mountain cabin" (what is it with movies and remote cabins?) for a wake to celebrate the life of a dead friend. But what should be a heart-warming and poignant reunion is threatened by old secrets and feuds as hidden resentments resurface. Can the spirit of Christmas save a group torn apart by the past, or will human frailty triumph over goodwill?
'Christmas Revisited' cast
Tanyell Waivers
NOLA-born Waivers burst on to the scene as Keke in the hit show 'Queen Sugar', but her breakout big-screen role was as Genie in 2019 hit 'Ma'. Waivers also stars opposite Maryam Basir in the Allblk series 'Lace'. You can see her next in the much-anticipated film 'African Giants'.
Jaime M Callica
Toronto-born Callica is best-known for playing Agent Bryan Rollins in Tyler Perry's 'The Oval' spinoff series 'Ruthless'. Callica has starred in a number of Lifetime and Hallmark films and made a name for himself in the family-movie genre though he has done some impressive grittier work too.
Golden Madison
The stunning Brampton-born actress broke out as Dre Nassir in the short 'Grey Area', and has got a host of upcoming projects including joining the pantheon of stars who have appeared on an episode of Law & Order -- in Madison's case it's in a 2024 episode of 'Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent'.
Who is the director of 'Christmas Revisited'?
The curse that plagues directors who do a majority of their work on series episodes is that their work often goes unnoticed, though not necessarily by the viewer. 'Christmas Revisited' director Winnifred Jong may not be a familiar name, but fans of TV shows will have certainly come across her work. She's directed episodes of 'Firefly Lane', 'Pretty Hard Cases', the spanking new 'My Life with the Walter Boys' and of course 16 episodes of 'Token'. She will join Golden Madison in the Law & Order legion when she directs an episode of 'Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent' next year.
Is 'Christmas Revisited' worth watching?
Featuring a rock-solid cast and a director who knows how to get the best out of a script both emotionally and dramatically, 'Christmas Revisited' should be well worth the watch.
