Putting a stamp of approval on a new Lucasfilm project, Disney is all set to adapt a movie about magical creatures and vindictive spirits. Titled 'Children of Blood and Bone', the film is based on a 2018 fantasy novel by Nigerian-American novelist Tomi Adeyemi. What's more, 'This Is Us' writer Kay Oyegun seems to have struck a deal to write the script adaptation of the epic fantasy along with director Rick Famuyiwa, according to Deadline.

The project, originally a Fox 2000 property, seems to have caught Lucasfilm's chief Kathy Kennedy's attention. This is the first feature to be produced by the banner that is not an installment of 'Star Wars' or 'Indiana Jones'.
