They ask the guy about his pickup and where did he take her. But the driver says that Jessica never showed up. His story turns out to be true and the department lets him go. Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) says she has the video from the surveillance cameras and the team finds out that it wasn’t a black Fusion, but a black Honda. They pull the plates and find out the vehicle was stolen the day before.

Voight heads to where the car is and it was set on fire, doused with lighter fluid and it is empty. Halstead says there are no fingerprints on the scene, they think the guy raped Jessica and wore a condom while doing so. Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) pulls footage of where the Honda was stolen, there is no footage of the steal, but he notices a guy walking out of a Mini Mart a block away, it is Caleb Hoff.

Voight shows Ben some photos of men and he points out Huff immediately and says he cannot forget how he was glaring at them. After a long chase, Hoff is finally taken into custody while Martinez tries to shoot him, but misses. Lisa Martinez was consumed with so much guilt that she would've risked her whole life to ensure that Hoff paid the ultimate price for his actions, but as Voight reminded her, it wasn't worth it.

The episode ends with Martinez saying that she lost everything due to the recent case and media has turned her into a monster.
