'Chicago Fire' Season 8 Episode 8 will see Lt. Kelly Severide start his stint with Office of Fire Investigations
In last week's episode of 'Chicago Fire', Lt. Kelly Severide was officially asked to make the move from Firehouse 51 to the Office of Fire Investigations (OFI). Severide agreed to do so on a temporary basis to clear up the backlog of fire investigation cases, after which he wants to move back to 51.
This week's episode of 'Chicago Fire' will see Kelly Severide begin his stint with the OFI. Through the last few seasons, Severide has shown a knack to figure out whether a fire was caused by an arsonist, and if so, who could be behind it.
From the promo, it looks like Severide will go full steam ahead as he takes up the job. On starting at the OFI, despite orders given to him, Severide reopens an old case, getting off on the wrong foot with the OFI chief.
However, Severide is on a mission for justice and goes ahead with uncovering a corrupt system. The episode can allay fears of fans who thought we might be seeing less of Severide since he is making his move to the OFI.
Meanwhile, back at 51, when the cause of an apartment fire hits close to home, Hermann is on a mission to get to the bottom of it. We could either see him working with those still at 51, but we hope that he ropes in Severide to help him, despite the latter's busy schedule.
Finally, the synopsis provided for the episode also suggests that Stella Kidd will find herself burning the candle at both ends. While we have no further clues on this, it is likely that Kidd will step into the void created by her boyfriend, Severide's departure from Firehouse 51.
Earlier in the season, Chief Boden asked her to represent the district at a firefighters' leadership conference and we could be seeing Stella moving in that direction from now on.
'Chicago Fire' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights.
