'Charmed' Season 2 Episode 7: Is this the last we will see of Katrina?
Katrina's problems with the consequences of going to the astral plane with Mel and Harry on the second season of 'Charmed' on The CW came to a head today as she decides to leave Seattle with her mom to seek treatment for her hallucinations and hearing of voices.
When Mel and Harry took Katrina's help to visit the astral plane in order to retrieve the cipher for the Book of Elders, they unleashed a can of worms, literally. Kat began seeing worms everywhere, but that was not all.
When Mel and Maggie were trying to perform a spell to find Macy after Dark Harry kidnapped her, and they were looking for Macy's diary, Kat had a message from the other side -- namely, the Charmed Ones' mother telling them to look between the sheets.
And so, Kat decides to leave Seattle, closing her store, Spellbound. Mel sees Kat's mother packing up her things and asks her if she can talk to Kat. Kat's mother disagrees, but Kat, on entering the store, decides to talk to Mel.
Mel tries to convince Kat that she is a medium, that there was a reason for all the voices and the hallucinations and though it may ease her mind, Kat still leaves. But before leaving, Kat gives Mel the keys to the store and asks her to manage it.
This episode may have solved two issues viewers may have had. One, that Mel was moving on too fast from Niko with Kat. Two, the lack of magic since the beginning of the season.
With unlimited access to Spellbound and the Book of Elders, it is possible that Mel may still be the one to figure out how to get their powers back.
However, Kat was an interesting addition to the cast and we would have liked to see her stick around, especially in a non-romantic capacity. It's clearer than ever that the Charmed Ones and Harry need more allies, and with Kat gone, that is one less person on their side.
'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights. The next episode -- and the midseason finale -- will air on December 6th.
