'Charmed' Season 2 Episode 6: Is the season's overarching villain The Collector and what is his endgame?

Of the few episodes that have aired this season of 'Charmed on The CW, one thing is clear. It is not Dark Harry or the demon overlord that seems to be the overarching villain of the season, but the mystery figure that seems intent on collecting the most powerful of each species.

It is why Dark Harry is after the Charmed Ones in the first place -- he is trying to capture them to add to the collection of the mystery figure. We saw a lair of sorts earlier this season when Abigael, Macy, and Mel first tried track down the Darklighter.

There, different monsters -- including a Kyon, a basilisk, and so on -- were stored inside giant vials of sorts. This mystery figure also wants to collect Abigael -- being half-witch and half-demon must make her a covetable item.

But why is this mystery figure intent on collecting the strongest of each species? This week's episode also hinted that the mystery figure might be a woman when Dark Harry kind of corrected Macy when she referred to them as a male.

Could this mystery figure be someone we have seen before? We must assume that the mystery figure is either a witch, an Elder, or a Whitelighter considering that when they set free Dark Harry from his prison, they did not trigger an explosion -- the way Abigael did when she touched Dark Harry's bottle prison.

Moreover, what is this mysterious figure's endgame? If they are a deposed Elder, could they be "collecting" all these monsters in order to form a semblance of control over the magical world?

At this point, viewers would just have a lot of questions and hopefully, by the midseason finale, we will get more answers. If it means we get some of the old characters from Season 1 back, that is sure to satisfy fans.

'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights.
