The beloved singer and international artiste Celine Dion recently had herself tested for coronavirus after she was concerned she that she may have been showing symptoms of the disease. Although the coronavirus tests came back negative, the singer has reportedly caught a common cold. She was therefore forced to postpone a couple of concerts in the United States as she recovers from her worsening condition, according to a statement released on March 10.

"On Monday night, a day after completing a six-show run in the New York area, Celine began feeling the symptoms of a common cold. The symptoms persisted into Tuesday, and her doctors instructed her to rest for the next 5-7 days," read the statement posted to Celine Dion's social media page on Tuesday, March 10. "After testing her, the doctors concluded that her virus was not related to COVID-19."

Presumably no longer able to hit those high notes that she is so famous for, Dion was forced to cancel two upcoming performances on her ongoing Courage World Tour, including her Wednesday (March 11) show at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, and her show on Friday (March 13) at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. "I’m so sorry for disappointing my fans in Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh," Dion said in the statement. "I hope everyone understands." Have courage, Celine. We know you'll get better.

In better news for fans, the shows are being rescheduled to the end of this year, so it's not a total loss. Her Washington DC show is being pushed back to November 16 and her Pittsburgh concert is rescheduled for November 18. "Performances of her Courage World Tour are expected to resume on Tuesday, March 24 in Denver, CO at the Pepsi Center as initially scheduled," the statement revealed. "Ticket holders of the postponed performances will receive more information shortly and should keep their original tickets to use at the rescheduled dates. Celine and Concerts West/AEG Presents apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders."

Dion is not the only singer to back out of concert appearances lately - plenty of high-profile artistes across the world (like Miley Cyrus, BTS, Green Day & Avril Lavigne) have been postponing performances out of growing concerns over the global coronavirus outbreak. Even music festivals like SXSW and Coachella have had to cancel their highly-anticipated events this year. As audience members and citizens of a global society, we encourage you to exercise every precaution you can, while at home or out in public, to curtail the spread of this highly contagious virus.
