California deputy who had sex with friend's teen son after dating his father sentenced to six months in jail
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: A former Sacramento County sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced on Wednesday, September 23, after she pleaded guilty to having sex with a teenage boy. As per the Wednesday sentencing, Shauna Bishop will be in jail for six months, after which she has to face five years of formal probation. Besides, she must also register as a sex offender.
In July, the 44-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old while the four other charges against her, which included one count of child molestation and three counts of oral copulation with a minor, were dismissed. Bishop was arrested in June 2019. In a statement, the Folsom Police Department said at the time: “Detectives from the Folsom Police Department obtained an arrest warrant Thursday, June 13, 2019 for Shauna Bishop, 44, of Citrus Heights. Bishop was accused in early May of having had sexual contact with a minor she knew. After a thorough investigation, detectives found evidence that Bishop had intercourse with a 16-year-old victim. Although Bishop is a deputy sheriff, she did not meet the victim through her job nor did the alleged acts occur while on duty. Detectives do not believe there are additional victims.”
During the investigation, Bishop was placed on paid administrative leave after it was alleged that she was in a sexual relationship with a minor. However, after her arrest, she resigned. She worked with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) for five years.
An earlier report also stated that Bishop was involved in a romantic relationship with the victim’s father. The father was reportedly a high-ranking officer at the SCSO. It was the father only who told his ex-wife that he was afraid that his colleague’s relationship with his son was "inappropriate" and that she was "grooming our son". At the time, the victim also revealed his encounter with Bishop, who reportedly had become close friends with his mother after breaking up with his father.
The teenager told investigators that in April, one night Bishop stayed at their house, but instead of sleeping in his mother’s bedroom, she came to his room and started "kissing me". "While she was kissing me, she was touching my side and I was touching her back and then her leg. Then she moved from touching my side to my thighs and began rubbing my penis while she was kissing me. We only made out for a second, and then I think she heard my mom coming, because she stopped,” the boy said.
The victim claimed that after a few minutes, Bishop came back and performed oral sex on him before they had intercourse. The day after the encounter, she "blamed them having sex on porn". According to court documents, the former deputy said to the victim “she watched stepmom/stepson related porn videos that made her (fantasize) about him" and that, "she thinks about (him) while she masturbates and had wanted them to have sex for a long time.”
In another incident, a wealthy man from Virginia was convicted on charges of conspiracy to produce child pornography, production of child pornography, and coercion and enticement of a child on September 18. William Wellington Hooper’s conviction came after it was revealed he took nude photos of a teenage girl and performed sex acts on her after the teen's mother allegedly pimped her out.
