'Bull' Season 4: Consistent ratings, impressive storylines and unique concept may help secure Season 5 renewal

For those who've followed the series since its inception, there is drama, gripping finishes and a multi-talented cast that's delivered in each of the episodes

With 'Bull' Season 4 left with seven episodes to go, questions of a season renewal have slowly begun doing the rounds. The legal procedural hit the ground running in September last year with its fourth season, despite the loss of  Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television not being part of the CBS drama anymore.

And what it has done so far is impressive. For those who've followed the series since its inception, there is drama, gripping finishes and a multi-talented cast that's delivered in each of the episodes. 'Bull' Season 4 was a bit different to start with. It introduced a dash of novelty with a flash-forward and then chugged on merrily from there— one case at a time.

The season opener may have flummoxed their loyal fans a bit, but things were back to normal as the series on its way touched on topics that it hadn't before. And while at it, it did manage to garner healthy TV ratings as well.  The current season averages 0.62 with 6.150 million viewers in the 18-49 target group. Last season, the overall numbers were even staggering: 0.75 ratings in the 18-49 demographic and 6.71 million total viewers.  (via TVSeriesfinale)

And the marginal dip shouldn't really be a concern for CBS with seven episodes left. And given the way the series is performing, Season 5 not coming in will be a surprise. 'Bull' is one of CBS hit shows that also boasts of a healthy social media chatter post the airing of each episode.

To compare 'Bull' to other long-running legal dramas would be unfair. This one's pretty unique in itself as it brings in the concept of employees at  Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting firm headed by Dr. Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly), who is a psychologist and trial science expert. Bull uses his skills and those of his team not only to select the right jurors for his clients but to help his clients' lawyers decide which type of argument will win over jurors best.

With Season 4 almost reaching its end what are your thoughts on the legal procedural returning with a Season 5?

'Bull' Season 4 currently on break will return on March 9.
