BTS is a beloved K-pop group with members who have often made hefty donations to good causes, but today's effort from the group's leader RM is a little different. According to reports, RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon and is said to be an art buff, recently donated 100 million won (approximately $84,000) to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Foundation.

With BTS' massive following, RM hopes their fanbase will learn how to tap into their artistic side and become more knowledgable on the culture. According to an official press release from the MMCA Foundation, RM's generous donation comes with the intention of encouraging a culture of reading “beautiful art books” and is also while he celebrated his 26th birthday on Saturday, September 12. Yoon Bum-mo, the director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Foundation, said, “I was elated and surprised when RM expressed his wishes to help young people who do not have the opportunity to visit art museums have better access to the arts. Together with RM, who often visits art museums despite his busy schedule and has influenced others to take interest in art, I will do my best to spread the book reading culture.”

Fans on Twitter were quick to share their love for RM after his donation, calling him "OUR PRECIOUS LEADER" and "Humble king."

One fan called him, "Our kind hearted thoughtful leader"

Another fan shared, "BTS CHARITY KINGS! ALWAYS DONATING ON THEIR BIRTHDAYS AND SO MANY OTHER TIMES AS WELL! LOVE YOU, NAMJOON!"

One fan added, "This is one of the many reasons why I love #BTS Not only are they always spreading a positive message through their amazing music, but they constantly donate and help those in need both as individual members and as a group. They are truly an inspiration and deserve the world."

The money from RM's donation will be used to reprint some of the books printed by the state-run art museum that have been discontinued or that need to be reissued. Those books will then be donated to 400 libraries across South Korea, as well as the libraries of elementary, middle, and high schools located in isolated areas for youth who don't have easy access to books on art.

The donated books will be a part of an eight-book set, seven of which will be by Korean artists Kim Whan-ki, Lee Jung-seob, Pen Varlen, Yoo Yeong-guk, Park Rae-hyun, Yun Hyong-keun and Lee Seung-jo. One of two exhibition books by the MMCA will be included as well: 'Birth of the Modern Art Museum: Art and Architecture of MMCA Deoksugung' and 'The Modern and Contemporary Korean Writing'. A total of 4,000 books will be donated, and these books will also be made available next month in libraries and MMCA art book cafes.
