BTS’ Jin takes over Japan as his first solo OST single ‘Yours’ continues to chart in the country months after its original release

Talk about still breaking records around the world while being on a holiday and BTS’ ‘fake maknae’ Jin will definitely relate. Jin, the oldest member of BTS, took his first step as a soloist when he sang the hit single ‘Yours’ as the OST for the 2021 K-drama ‘Jirisan’ or ‘Mt Jirisan’ which was officially released on November 7. Within hours since its release, the single topped various charts as fans streamed the honey-voiced singer's first solo project outside of BTS group activities.

Fans ensured that Jin got all the attention for ‘Yours’ as the song became the most heard OST single breaking Spotify, iTunes, and Billboard records days after its release. Jin’s OST single seemed to have particularly taken over Japan as the single topped iTunes charts in Japan within two hours of its initial release on November 24, 2021. Now, months after the release of the single, ‘Yours’ by Jin continues to be one of the most popular OSTs as it achieved an ‘all-kill’ in Japan.

The song ‘Yours’ was released in a high-resolution version on February 9 and within 24 hours, the single came to be ranked Number 1 on major Japanese high-resolution digital music platforms like Mora, e-onkyo Music, and Rechochoku, earning an all-kill in the country.

Not only for this single but Jin’s birthday gift to ARMYs ‘Super Tuna’, which he released as a light-hearted surprise for fans without the intention of it being successful, has officially surpassed 52 million views on YouTube. Call it winning without even trying, but BTS Jin’s ‘Super Tuna’ was released with a special performance on December 4, 2021, and is still one of the most trendings songs at the moment.
