Bruce Willis reveals that work on Die Hard 6 has begun
Bruce Willis confirmed that work on 'Die Hard 6' had started and revealed to Jimmy Fallon that a script was already in place.
Bruce Willis appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' to talk about his involvement in the new installment in the Die Hard franchise, 'Die Hard 6,' and revealed that work on the film had begun, with a script already in place.
Fallon brought up the fact that 'Die Hard' was one of his first big blockbuster films and mentioned, "It's the 30th anniversary of that film. Can you believe it's been thirty years?... This is a big deal: it just got added to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. How great is that? That's an honor!"
When asked if he knew that 'Die Hard' was going to be big, Willis replied, "No, there was a slow start on that one, but then it arced." Fallon said, "It really did, it's wonderful," before adding, "And now there's rumors, just saying, of a 'Die Hard 6.'"
Willis revealed, "I'm about to wing out to California to start to see what the script looks like." Fallon asked, "So, it's going to happen," and Willis confirmed, "Mhmm, yep" as the audience cheered at the news.
The two then went on discuss Willis's new film 'Death Wish' in which he plays a vigilante, and Fallon pointed out that Willis was still doing action movies thirty years later.
Len Wiseman, who directed the 4th installment, 'Live Free or Die Hard,' revealed in September to Deadline that the next 'Die Hard' film would be both a prequel and a sequel, following Willis's character John McClane when he was a NYC beat cop in the 1970s played by a younger actor, with Willis reprising his role as McClane in the present day.
This is likely to be Willis's final movie in the franchise, as he previously revealed in an interview with Showbiz Spy, "In the next few years they could easily find a replacement for me or call the character someone else. But for me, I want to do Die Hard 5, then one final Die Hard movie — Die Hard 6 — before finally hanging that white vest up for good." However, not everyone seems excited about a sequel, given that the character debuted thirty years ago.

He added, "At the moment, I can run and I can fight on screen. But there will come a time when I no longer want to do that. That’s when I’ll step away from the Die Hard films." The actor is already 62, and his appearance on Jimmy Fallon had him with a sling on his arm, which he revealed was the result of an injury he got while working out.
The last 'Die Hard' film Willis starred in was released in 2013, 'A Good Day to Die Hard.' Since this is most likely his final film in the franchise, fans will have one final chance to see him play John McClane on the big screen before he "[hangs] up that white vest for good."
