Hero mom hailed after she pumped and dumped breast milk through 6 months of chemo so she could breastfeed her son
Nikki Heying didn't let chemotherapy prevent her from brestfeeding her newborn, pumping and dumping her milk everydy during the six month treatment period, so that she could keep up her supply and get rid of any chemo chemicals from her milk.
The mother of four from California was diagnosed with lymphoma just after giving birth through C-section to her fourth child. She was prevented from breastfeeding her son during the treatment period, but the mother persevered and finally took to nurturing her son.
After her six month long chemo treatment, Heying took to Facebook and revealed in detail how she used to pump and dump her milk every day for six months.
In a now viral post, she posted a picture of her breastfeeding her son from before her treatment and after and captioned it, "Six weeks old on the left, 30 weeks old on the right."
