Bravo has become synonymous with its popular reality franchise ‘Real Housewives’, and its several spin-off shows and specials revolving around the housewives. So, when Bravo announced its new reality show ‘Spy Games’, which involved mystery and espionage as its central theme as opposed to shouting matches and wine throwing, it looked like the network was looking to venture into new pastures for the ever-popular reality genre.

When we read the show’s summary, and watched the trailer we were very excited to see how the show could pan out. The show's idea to recruit 10 civilians from various professional fronts to train them to be spies has been heavily inspired by the US government’s secret service program called “Station S”.

The pilot episode introduced us to 10 interesting civilians and their interest in espionage, alongside one of their darkest secrets. To weed out the weaklings, the first task before training commenced involved the aspiring spies to camp overnight in a forest and attend a gala the next morning straight from the camp. At the gala they were supposed to get a phone number from any of the guests without them asking for it. The challenge looked fairly interesting and the execution-style of each of these civilians was equally fun to watch. Unfortunately, the fans weren’t too happy with the show. They found it to be “slow” and “lame”.

Several fans took to social media to slam the show and Bravo for airing it. A fan tweeted, “Only took 5 minutes for me to say Hard Pass on #SpyGames. Stick to stereotypical reality shows Bravo.” Another fan wrote, “The first 6 minutes of #SpyGames is crap. Pure crap. What is this? Its not spy-ish Its not entertaining Its soooooo slow Its a big "who cares"and its not even filmed right. What is this crap ?”

"20 minutes into #SpyGames and if I could find the remote I would throw it through the TV,” expressed an annoyed fan.

Few fans however felt that ‘Spy Games’ was a good show, but not suited for Bravo’s audience. A fan tweeted, “#Bravo needs to stay in their lane, this #SpyGames show needs to be on TLC or CI channel.” Another fan commented, “Hey Bravo I think you're misjudging your demographic for this dumb spy games show.” “I love Bravo but seriously WTF is this..? #SpyGames season premiere has been a total snooze fest,” observed a fan. Another fan wondered, “Is Bravo for real with Spy Games? Wth is this nonsense.” “Who tf at Bravo HQ thought a show like Spy Games would be a good idea,” shared a fan.

You can catch all new episodes of 'Spy Games' every Monday at 10 pm ET/PT, only on Bravo.
