DC FanDome 2020 | 'Black Adam': Dwayne Johnson confirms arrival of Justice Society, teases Hawkman and Doctor Fate
"The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change," said Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, while signing off from his 'Black Adam' panel and he's bringing in a whole new team of superheroes to back his highly ambitious claim. Johnson confirmed the appearance of the Justice Society in the upcoming 'Black Adam' movie, with teasers featuring Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone and Atom Smasher.
While there is no live-action footage yet to show, Johnson teamed up with several concept artists to share images of several key Justice Society members, as well as featuring a quick appearance by Noah Centineo, who plays Atom Smasher in the film. Later on in the panel, Johnson shared a teaser, featuring concept art from the long-awaited film, which shows comics-accurate costumes for Doctor Fate and Hawkman and their younger generation of recruits, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.
The Justice Society have been making waves in the live action adaptation of late, most recently being featured in Season 1 of 'Stargirl' in a major way. The movie, however, uses none of the characters that have so far been featured on the show, leaving for a certain amount of separation between film and TV universes. The teaser firmly cements Black Adam's (Dwayne Johnson) role as an anti-hero, as he purports to show the Justice Society the meaning of "truth, justice, and the Black Adam way."
Fans are thrilled. "How on earth did The Rock talking about #BlackAdam get me so crazy hyped?! And the #JusticeSociety!!! I am pumped for this," said one fan, on Twitter.
