Spoilers for ‘Billions’ Season 5 Episode 6 ‘The Nordic Model’

Ever since ‘Billions’ came back with Season 5, Charles Rhoades Sr (Jeffrey DeMunn) has been in the limelight quite a few times. While the first episode began with his marriage to Roxanne (Lily Gladstone), the third episode was all about family and parenting as Charles Sr emotionally blackmailed Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) to introduce his little sister to everyone in the family.

Leaving those moments apart, in every episode, his declining health is a major concern. In the last episode, both Chuck and Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff) rushed to the hospital with their new partners as Charles Sr was suddenly admitted while playing with his little kid. Even though Charles wants to brush his health issues under the rug, it is becoming a huge problem indeed. In ‘The Nordic Model’, Chuck even goes to Wendy to get her blood-type checked in desperation to find the right match.

He needs a kidney transplant to survive and it's rather shocking that neither Chuck, Wendy nor any of his illegitimate children are a blood-type match.

Does that mean the showrunners are slowly hinting that Charles will die? Fans are inkling towards that thought and want him to die. "Chuck Sr is a miserable old man, just die already," one said and another wrote, "Chuck Sr bout to die huh." One even wondered if he'll die the Vito Corleone-like death. "Loved the scene with Chuck Rhoades Sr playing with his baby daughter. Oh, but the orange slice in the mouth was ominous. I’m just glad Chuck Sr didn’t die like Don Corleone. He’s a special kind of evil. He has a soft side that only his baby brings out."

Many feel that if Sr dies, it will be the end of Chuck. One tweet read, "If Rhoades Sr dies, Rhoades Jr is finished!" and another said, "Chuck Rhoades’ entire objective is approval from his father. I can’t believe the emotional and verbal abuse he continues to take from Rhoades Sr. He’s just a boy who yearns for his dad to tell him ‘you’ve done well son’. If his dad dies, he’s finally free."

But most of all, fans are tired of all his children and can't stop wondering how many b*****ds he actually has. "'None of them were matches. The bastards.' Ha, SAVE Sr.!" one said and another wrote, "Chuck Sr has as many kids as a damn polygamist has wives." Another said, "Sr was unbearable healthy and now dying is even worse. That wife he left would have done him better than the current one."

In a major revelation, many fans feel that a major twist is coming. Charles Sr may get a kidney, thanks to Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis). "I'm calling it already, the only way Sr gets a kidney is because of Axe," one tweet read and another said, "Let me game out the rest of the season. Chuck Jr paints (get it?) Axe in a corner, Chuck Sr takes a turn for the worst, Axe gets Sr a kidney and they all sign a truce." Another said, "Chuck really got some nerves, but it would be very twisty of Axe to find out about Chuck Sr and is a match, ha how would Chuck jr handle that."

Well, we don't know what may happen in the future, but the showrunners may not kill Charles Sr so soon, or will they? What do you think? ‘Billions’ Season 5 airs on Sundays at 9 pm ET on Showtime.
