At one point, a group of officers is seen approaching the models before a policewoman appears to tell the women to cover up.

Vanessa Lopez, who was tasked with capturing the shots on camera, spoke about the incident online. “We were almost arrested, guys, because we were advertising for bikinis and they said we can’t," she told her followers. “We said 'ah, but it's a bikini.' I even said 'lady, it's because we have a bikini business.'" Vanessa said the officers told them it is against the law to take semi-nude photos in front of the tourist destination.

The models were slammed on social media for the stunt. "I don't know how you're not ashamed, people," one commented. "I don't understand why they don't go to the Caribbean or the pool if you want to promote your brand. Now in Paris and worse the Tower. Your content is totally useless," another wrote. "Sometimes sense has to come before marketing," someone else added. "Ridiculous. How far will these people go for media?" another chimed in.

Some, however, lauded the stunt. "I don't judge walking in a bikini in Paris, if I had this bikini, this body, and the passage I would also do it lol PERFECT," one opined. "If being hot is a crime, you can arrest 😂 💘" another quipped. The incident came to light after a video posted by Brazilian TV personality Luane Dias, 28, who happened to be filming at the same time. She took to her Instagram Stories to share footage of the exact moment the two influencers managed to get a few snaps before being asked to cover up. “I’m glad I’m not with them," Luane joked.

This comes after a tourist sparked outrage last month after posing naked in front of an Italian cathedral. 29-year-old Jemma Hopson is said to have helped Canadian model Savahnna Cross, 28, with the stunt on the iconic steps of the cathedral in Amalfi, Italy. Cross was seen in a viral clip bare-bottomed outside the 900-year-old cathedral while a woman fanned out her red cover-up gown.

The assistant was later identified to be Hopson, who allegedly works for West Yorkshire Police in England. Shocked onlookers reported the model and crew to the authorities after spotting the raunchy photoshoot in broad daylight. The trio was subsequently confronted by Italian police for committing obscene acts in a public place. It's unclear if they were fined, The Sun reported.
