'Big Sky' is heading to a bloody mid-season finale. In the latest episode, Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) decide to get to the bottom of the Legarski mystery once and for all, and that involves, of course, going undercover as a prostitute. That's an age-old trope but considering the ABC show drowns itself in such tropes, we are really not surprised. Nevertheless, they come agonizingly close to where the missing girls are hidden, but of course, they don't hear their shrieks and screams. They leave. That's the most frustrating part of the episode...well, frustrating in the good sense, because it works well for a thriller series to keep you on your toes.

The girls are not doing so well, especially Grace (Jade Pettyjohn). After being shot in the leg with an arrow by Legarski in the previous episode, she's now suffering from an infection. This puts Legarski (John Carroll-Lynch) and Ronald Pergman on the spot: What do they do now? Do they let the girl die? No, they can't. So, they decide to put their medical expertise, while Grace continues screaming in agony.

However, this tag-team duo of Legarski and Ronald is breaking apart slowly. Legarski is furious that Ronald's mother is getting suspicious, and is almost ready to draw the gun on Ron. Ron doesn't seem to be making things better for himself, he skips off for dancing with Legarski's wife...and watching the two of them is nothing short of eerie and downright creepy. Usual story: The woman is sad that her husband is not giving her attention, and is ready to have an affair with the next man she sees. Why are the women in this show so poorly depicted. They're either victims, fighting over a useless man, or trying to have an affair to get away from the mundaneness of their lives.

The promo for the next week promises to be thrilling to the bone, because Legarski plans to bludgeon someone in bed... that could just be Ronald's mother, or his own wife. It's the mid-season finale, so...hold on to your seats.

'Big Sky' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm on ABC.
