Beto O'Rourke raises record-breaking $6.1m in first 24 hours of campaign in run-up to 2020 US presidential elections

O'Rourke's campaign, in a statement on Monday, announced that a total of $6,136,763 in donations were made online, and the funding poured in from every state in the country

Texan politician Beto O'Rourke raised a record-breaking $6.1 million in the first 24 hours after he announced his 2020 presidential candidacy. O'Rourke reportedly surpassed all the other Democratic contenders who have released their fundraising figures.

O'Rourke's campaign, in a statement on Monday, announced that a total of $6,136,763 in donations were made online by people, and the funding poured in from every state in the country. The donations did not include funding from nonpolitical action committees or corporations.
