'Below Deck': Did Rachel choose love over career? Fans brand chef as 'unprofessional' after rage-quit speech
This week 'Below Deck' saw two people leave My Seanna. While Shane Coopersmith was fired for being inept, Rachel Hargrove left the crew hanging after she decided to quit over an exhaustive preference sheet. She was done cooking endless courses of meals for charter guests for a price, which, according to her, is less than what she earns sitting at home. Her resignation speech was quite straight forward and laced with cuss words, which shocked Eddie Lucas and Francesca Rubi.
Captain Lee Rosbach too seemed taken aback by Rachel's sudden call to bail on the team. Even though he is not the kind who forces people to stick around when they don't want to, the Captain tried to reason with her hoping she would stay back for the first day's lunch and dinner. However, Rachel was determined and very busy abusing the situation she was in.
The team was visibly worried because they had only 16 hours before a new chef could be hired and it doesn't help that the chief and second stew don't get along. Captain Lee was tensed and even considering canceling the charter.
Meanwhile, fans called out Rachel for deciding to quit. Some even pointed out that she chose to leave the yacht, not because of the lengthy preference sheet but because she wanted to meet her boyfriend Vincenzo in Italy.
"I can’t believe Rachel is so selfish. she just quit bc she doesn’t want to do her job and just tells her co-workers to 'eat her a**' she needs to learn a lesson in commitment and respect. sometimes work isn’t easy but we all have to do it," a fan commented while another shared: "I take back every single thing I said about Rachel. That is the most unprofessional thing ever on #BelowDeck."

"Rachel is all about everyone’s professionalism — then she proceeds to have a meltdown over missing her boyfriend, telling the captain to go f himself, and quit, leaving the crew hanging... #BelowDeck," a user pointed out. "You may respect @capthlr, Rachel, but NONE of us respect you. You’re not leaving bc of the request list, you want to go see your boyfriend and you’re screwing the whole crew over it. #belowdeck," a fan wrote.
"#BelowDeck If Rachel is trying to get fired to get back to her bf, then she is crazy to jettison her career for a dude. #Stupid," a user expressed.
