Ashton Pienaar and Kate Chastain have had their ups and downs throughout the series and it seemed like the two won't ever be able to settle on one decision. It all started when Kate thought that Ashton was disrespecting her as a fellow chief steward. The two got into a bitter argument where Kate ended up throwing things on the floor.

While she decided to walk away from the situation, it painted her in a bad light. However, this was not the end of their turbulent relationship.

Ashton was too drunk to understand what was going on and decided to pick a battle with Kate. Ashton tried to kiss Kate and she refused. Despite her asking Ashton to stay away from her multiple times, he seemed to push her buttons even further.

Finally, Kate decided that it would be best if she walked out of the situation. While Kate was sitting in the car, he made his way back into the car with the rest of the gang. One would have expected that things have cooled down but Ashton was still drunk and passing comments to other cast members that Kate did not like.

Things did not seem pretty good between the two and that was the time when their relationship descended to worse. However, with the charter coming to an end and today's episode being the last one of the reunion, Ashton decided to mend the mistakes that he had made.

He came forward and apologized to Kate for how he had behaved. He admitted that he was completely drunk and out of his mind" when the incident took place and apologized for how he behaved. He added that he took full responsibility for the way his actions had come out.

Ashton revealed that he is "making changes in my life because I am not proud of the person that I saw". This realization came to Ashton particularly when he stepped out in the real world and realized that the labels that he is being attached to are the ones that he is not proud of.

He added that these things hurt him the most because he is not that type of person and he is ready to change the things that he is aware need to be changed. Hearing this, Kate accepted his apology and was ready to give Ashton one more chance.
