Who is chef Dave White on 'Below Deck Med'?
Dave White was born in the UK, and according to his Bravo bio he has over seven years of experience as a Head Chef, and working in some of the most prestigious kitchens in London. Dave takes great pride in his flair for plating and presentation, a skill that'll definitely come in handy during his stint on 'Below Deck Med'. Back in 2012, Dave appeared on 'MasterChef: The Professionals'. While the talented chef failed to win the culinary competition, he, however, managed to land several cool gigs to cook for celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, oby Maguire, surfer Kelly Slater, etc.
During an interview with iNews, Dave recounted, "I was 22 at the time and head chef at a large hotel in Corsica. I had so much to learn but I thought I was the bee’s knees. The appearance on MasterChef put me right on that. I made it to the third round, where I had 11 minutes to cook bone marrow as a main component." "I had no idea what to do. Thankfully the lovely Monica (Galetti) discretely showed me how to get the marrow out of the bone and then I was away. Well sort of. I made a right mess but produced a dish; chargrilled bone marrow Bruschetta, garlic and shallot butter with a baby coriander salad. I was kicked off the show and that felt sh*t. I think that inspired me to improve. Since then I have cooked on many super yachts for celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, E from Entourage, Toby Maguire, surfer Kelly Slater and sundry of billionaires," he added.
In the trailer for 'Below Deck Med' Dave can be heard expressing his love for working in a busy kitchen and the adrenaline that comes from it. Aside from getting an adrenaline rush inside the kitchen, Dave also appears to be an adventure junkie having scaled Mt. Everest. He is also a former professional free ride skier and won a gold medal in the 2014 British ski freestyle. He’s also a licensed skydiver, and despite multiple injuries, he has never given up.
