‘Be Mbitious’ is almost over with the audition show close to revealing the eight winners that will be forming a male dance crew. After the success of ‘Street Woman Fighter’, Mnet’s first all-female dance crew survival show, the channel announced several sequels and spin-offs. For the male edition ‘Street Man Fighter’, several solo dancers showed an interest for which Mnet announced ‘Be Mbitious’ that will form a project dance crew to specifically compete on the show. And we also had several idols participating like Pentagon’s Kino, ONF’s U, Kard’s BM, Hoya of Infinite fame and more.

While in ‘Street Woman Fighter’, Lee Chaeyeon of IZ*ONE had been looked down upon and used as clickbait thanks to her crying shots, fans were afraid that male idols would get the same treatment. However, viewers loved how the male idols snapped back at professional idols mocking them and even did pretty well during the battles. Unfortunately, one of the idols, Kard’s BM barely got any screentime on ‘Be Mbitious’ before he was eliminated.

BM’s missions edited out of ‘Be Mbitious’

With Kard’s BM being pretty popular, his face and clips of him were used as clickbait in teasers, social media and thumbnails to promote the episodes of ‘Be Mbitious’. Unfortunately, he barely got any screentime in episode 1, was edited out of episode 2, and was only shown for seconds in the last episode when he was with the eliminated dancers. While there were two missions, he was not shown for either. It was only through conjecture that fans realised the Kard member had failed the ‘Hey Mama’ mission and was selected as a ‘No Respect Dancer’ by Kasper for round 2.

While almost all the dance battles of round 2 were shown in the episodes, BM and Kasper’s was edited out. It was later uploaded on The Choom’s YouTube channel. Kasper, one of the most popular K-pop choreographers got eliminated because he gave up halfway during the freestyle dance battle. BM held his own despite making a mistake in following Kasper’s choreography. He also had the crowd and the judges hyped up for his freestyle as he danced to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Sexy Back’. While he too was eliminated for not showing enough "despair" to join ‘Street Man Fighter’, fans feel it unfair that his screentime was edited out of the show.

BM and Kasper's battle and results were edited out of the actual episodes and simply uploaded on YouTube (The Choom/YouTube)

‘I was waiting since ep 1’

Upset fans made tweets like, “It’s so sad that BM didn’t get that much screen time in Be Mbitious. They didn’t show him dancing to Hey Mama for the 1st mission. Mn*t also didn’t show his battle with Kasper. All we got were 5 mins worth of screen time of his reactions. I was waiting since ep 1 :3.” One posted, “They showed him to🤡 us and for what? MNET is a f*king joke.” Another Hidden commented, “I hope participating in Be Mbitious was a good experience for Matthew but honestly MNET SCREW YOU for not even giving him 5 mins screentime over the course of 3 episodes when he was always hyping the other dancers up in their parts.” One fan added, “Did hidden kards really just watched 3 episodes of Be Mbitious to see BM's reaction?? wtf mnet.. you've been doing kard so dirty..”
