Barbra Streisand, on February 7, slammed President Donald Trump on Twitter, calling him vindictive and suggesting that the Republican does not know how to let bygones be bygones as he slammed the Democrats during the prayer breakfast on Thursday.

"It would’ve been so nice to hear President Trump bring people together in bi-partisan fashion at the prayer breakfast," she wrote on Twitter. "You know, let’s let bygones be bygones and work together to put through infrastructure, healthcare. But no, his insults and vindictiveness always shines through."

The singer's statement came nearly a month after she listed six reasons why Trump should be impeached. She had later deleted the tweet.

Streisand, days before the tweet, had also posted a photo on Twitter, depicting Trump's bloodied body being impaled by the heel of a shoe with the word “Pelosi" emblazoned on it. The illustration was symbolic of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launching an impeachment inquiry against Trump in September 2019, which eventually led to the president being impeached by the House in December.

Trump, during his address at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, took swipes at congressional Democrats who voted for his impeachment. The president said: "They love people and sometimes they hate people. I’m sorry. I apologize. I’m trying to learn. … It’s not easy. When they impeach you for nothing and then you’re supposed to like them it’s not easy folks, I do my best.”

The Grammy winner, in July 2019, had launched a campaign calling for Trump's removal from office, saying it was "time for voters to remove climate deniers from office" starting with President Trump. After Trump's impeachment inquiry was announced, the singer lauded the effort by House Democrats, stating that impeachment was envisioned by America’s founders in case the country needed to get rid of inspiring despots like Trump.

Streisand, a vocal critic of Trump, had also released an album in 2018 called 'Walls', stating that it rebuked the "groper in chief". The singer, in the past, had claimed that Trump had made her "gain weight". She later said she would move to Canada if Republicans won the House during the 2018 midterm elections.
