LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Avatar, the bender of all four elements returns to restore peace in Netflix's live action-adventure series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'.

The series is inspired by Nickelodeon's animated series of the same name. It aired on the channel for three years, between 2005 and 2008.

Further, the original animated series was also adapted into a live-action film titled 'The Last Airbender' in 2010. Before diving into the Netflix series, here's everything you need to know about the titular character.

A look at the Avatar and his powers in Netflix's 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'

The Netflix series is inspired by Asian and Indigenous American cultures and takes place in a fantasy world divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Fire Nation, the Air Nomads, and the Earth Kingdom.

Each nation consists of certain people who can telekinetically manipulate/bend one of the four elements: Water, Earth, Fire, or Air. However, the titular character is the only individual who can bend all four elements.

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' hero has to maintain peace in the world

With an ambition to conquer the world, the Fire Nation resorts to violence. The world is at war and only the Avatar can save it. Using his ability to bend all the elements, the gifted being must maintain the balance of the world.
