'Arrow' Season 8 could see Lyla Michaels and her Suicide Squad back for one last mission

The Suicide Squad has played a recurring role on 'Arrow' throughout the show's history so it makes sense to have them be featured in an episode in the final season, which is reportedly playing back the series' greatest hits. We already have confirmation that Lyla will be appearing in season 8

The Suicide Squad is one of DC's most popular super-teams and there is a version of the Squad that has been active in The CW's 'Arrow' since quite early in the show's history. Now with the series finally coming to an end, it might just be time to put the Squad back together for one last mission.

Comprised of incarcerated criminals whose loyalty is ensured by implanting bombs in their spines, the Squad was first put together by A.R.G.U.S. Director Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) in the early years of the show with a number of villains like Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Michael Rowe) and Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) among its roster.

Officially known as Task Force X, the team was renamed the Ghost Initiative after Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson), the wife of John Diggle (David Ramsey), took over control of the organization.

The Suicide Squad has played a recurring role on 'Arrow' throughout the show's history so it makes sense to have them be featured in an episode in the final season, which is reportedly playing back the series' greatest hits. We already have confirmation Lyla will be appearing in season 8 and in the upcoming 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover, and wherever she goes, the Suicide Squad is never too far behind.

The cast for ‘Arrow’ Season 8 includes Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake, Ben Lewis as William Clayton, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak and Charlie Barnett as John Diggle Jr., as well as returning cast members Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn, Josh Segarra as Adrian Chase, John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn, Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Rila Fukushima as Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana among others.

'Arrow' Season 8 will premiere on The CW October 15.
