HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS: A paramedic in Arkansas was arrested on Monday for cutting a diamond ring off the finger of a dead patient and then selling it at a pawn shop.

The authorities arrested Lisa Darlene Glaze, who hails from Hot Springs, was charged with a felony count of theft which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Glaze is also facing a misdemeanor count of unlawful transfer of stolen property to a pawn shop that has a maximum of one year in prison.

As per the Sentinel-Record, the patient, Gloria Robinson, had experienced a medical emergency on October 16 and was rushed to the CHI St Vincent Hot Springs where she had been pronounced dead. When Robinson's personal belongings were handed to her husband and sister, they noticed that three of her rings were missing.

Robinson's sister approached Glaze and asked her where the rings were. However, Glaze did not respond to her and walked away. Around two days later, Robinson's family was at the Fuller Hale South Funeral Home where they received a bag that contained two of Robinson's rings.

The third one which was a single marquis cut diamond with a gold band was still missing. According to the authorities, the ring was likely cut off of Robinson's finger. Glaze had allegedly sold a marquis cut ring at the Hot Springs Classic Guns and Pawn for around $45.

The pawnshop employee who had handled the transaction had shared with local authorities that Glaze had provided her driver's license as ID at the time. When showed a picture of Glaze, the pawnshop employee confirmed that she was the one who had sold the ring.

Both Robinson's husband and sister confirmed that the ring had belonged to Robinson. An arrest warrant was issued for Glaze who was released from prison on a $4,500 bond. She is due to appear in court on November 26 at the Garland County District Court.
