'The Ultimatum' Season 2 couple Kat Shelton and Alex Chapman's respective trial marriages did not work out

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: 'The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On' Season 2 contestant Kat Shelton was quite confident about her and Alex Chapman's future after two years of dating.

However, Kat gave Alex the ultimatum because Alex did not to marry any time soon.

Kat and Alex's personalities were totally opposite from each other which soon began to cause problems in terms of what they truly wanted in their life.

Kat revealed, "[Alex] never gives me a real answer... I don’t want to go three or four years and still be like, what’s going on? I’d rather know now."

However, Alex then proved her by stating, "We are this fun, adventure-loving couple who is skiing, surfing, traveling all over the place. I haven't been able to propose because, seriously, we've been busy."

However, as the trial marriage begins, Kat paired up with Antonio Mattei while Alex got to know Roxanne Kaiser.

The trial marriage experiment tested Kat and Alex's bond which eventually brought them to the breaking point of their relationship.

Alex and Roxanne started having feelings for each other as they shared similar ambitions and perspectives about their future.

Alex's mother, Jennifer, loved Roxanne and found her perfect for her son. Kat just wanted Alex to realise her worth and aske for her hand in marriage.

Alex eventually realised that Kat was the one with whom he wanted to spend his life and reconnected with her during 'The Changeover'. However, Kat and Alex are yet to confirm their relationship status.

Meanwhile, it seems like they have come out stronger than ever from the experiment as they still follow each other social media. Alex's parents also follow Kat on Instagram.

Furthermore, both Alex and Kat still have photos up on their accounts. In June 2022, Kat posted an Instagram photo of her and Alex on a hike with the caption, "NC summers."

Alex posted a photo of him and Kat on a hike with friends in September 2022. Though these posts were shared before 'The Ultimatum' Season 2 started filming, they seem to hint that Alex and Kat are still together.

Alex Chapman's lies sabotage his 'trial marriage'

Alex and Roxanne kicked off their trial marriage on a positive note. They tried to get to know each other and also had some romantic dates.

Roxanne also impressed Alex's parents with her brave and challenging personality. However, Alex and Roxanne's trial marriage started breaking down due to his lies.

Alex met Roxanne's parents, Larry and Zahra, as he wanted to mingle with her. Roxanne's parents asked him if he had opened the car's door for her as a caring gesture.

However, Alex lied and said he did while Roxanne stood shocked beside him. Alex and Roxanne's trial marriage came to an end when he lied again, but this time with Antonio.

Alex was clearly attracted to Roxanne and did not want to lose her. Alex told Antonio that Roxanne did not respect him and called him "Roxanne's whipping boy."

However, Antonio did not believe him and called Roxanne to clear things up. After Alex's continuous lies, Roxanne calls things off with him and returns to Antonio.

Alex Chapman realizes Kat Shelton did challenge him

Alex's mother Jennifer asked him if he found Kat challenging but he did not knwo what to reply at the time. However, he later realized that Kat did challenge him in her own quiet way once they reconnected.

Alex had been career-oriented and wanted to focus on his business. Kat, meanwhile was seemingly less focused on her career and wanted to get married and have children with Alex in future.

Although Alex and Kat's perspectives were quite different from each other, they still loved each other.

Although Alex had reconnected with Kat, the Netflix show viewers weren't left impressed. The viewers took to social media and exclaimed that Kat deserved someone better.

A social media user wrote, "Alex is a walking red flag." Another person added, "Kat deserves way better. She needs to run far away from that man. Alex does not deserve her AT ALL."

One viewer said, "Alex really said 'and I'd do it again' this man takes no accountability." Another Twitter user wrote, "Alex is a demon, that guy does not give a heck about anyone other than himself."

One critic stated, "Alex is a complete always trying to word his way around a question where he makes people think they’ve heard what they want to hear but without committing to anything."

Who is 'The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On' star Alex Chapman?

Alex is the founder and growth manager of the digital marketing agency Sparkinator.

He is a software sales specialist and has also written several blog posts on the company's website that explain tactics and resources in online marketing.

Alex previously worked as an asset manager in Miami, Florida, and is originally from northern Illinois.

Alex's social media documents his travels and his passion for sports such as skiing and surfing along with adorable photos with Kat.
