On Sunday, February 28, 2021, the 78th edition of the Golden Globe Awards was hosted amid much fanfare. This is the first time the award show was held virtually as the nominees could not be in the same room due to the Covid-19 protocols. Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the ceremony from two different locations, marking the first bi-coastal event in the show's history. Fey hosted the ceremony from New York City's Rainbow Room while Poehler was present at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. 

The 'Best Performance by an Actress In A Limited Series, Anthology Series Or A Motion Picture Made For Television' was a fairly new category but garnered much attention at the awards. Who is the winner?

The award for Best Performance by an Actress In A Limited Series, Anthology Series Or A Motion Picture Made For Television was taken home by Anya Taylor-Joy for the hit Netflix series 'The Queen's Gambit'. 

The other nominations for the category included Cate Blanchett for 'Mrs America', Daisy Edgar-Jones for 'Normal People', Shira Haas for 'Unorthodox', and Nicole Kidman for 'The Undoing'. In the end it was Anya Taylor-Joy's amazing performance as chess star Beth Harmon in the fictional period drama 'The Queen's Gambit' that earned the prestigious honor. 



 

This is the second nomination and first Golden Globe win for Anya Taylor-Joy. While accepting the award, Taylor-Joy looked absolutely stunning in a green low-neck gown with long blonde hair, accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings. She welled up during her acceptance speech, saying, "I would do this project again, again and again."

'She gave her body and soul to Beth Harmon'

Social media cannot rejoice enough at favorite star Anya Taylor-Joy's win as well as her stunning look at the 78th Golden Globes Awards.

"Anya deserved this award for all his work. She gives her body and soul to Beth Harmon, and she also gave sweat and blood for that role, this award was more than deserved. The official 2021 Golden Globe Awards was telecasted on February 28 at 8 pm ET and the pre-show was streamed live from the official @GoldenGlobes Twitter account and on the website goldenglobes.com at 6.30 pm ET.
