Ana Navarro says she's 'done' defending Will Smith as 'The View' host believes he's 'emotionally' imprisoned by Jada Pinkett Smith
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Britney Spears and Jada Pinkett Smith are two of the “big celebrities” who are releasing “explosive” memoirs, and ‘The View’ panel unpacked it all during Monday’s segment.
Although both celebrities were mentioned, the focus had shifted to Jada, who recently revealed that she and Will Smith had been separated for years, which was also discussed on ‘The View.’
If there is one co-host who is “done with” Jada and Will, it is Ana Navarro, and she has expressed her views on the couple during this particular segment of the daytime talk show.
‘The View’ brushes upon Jada Pinkett Smith’s book
Whoopi Goldberg introduced the topic to the rest of the panel on ‘The View,’ “Apparently, Jada Pinkett Smith and Britney Spears are just two of the big celebrities releasing explosive memoirs and this comes at a time when nonfiction and tell-all sales seem to be down, and reportedly publishers are insisting that celebrity memoirs be particularly juicy and revealing in the age of social media.”
She continued, “I don't know. Do you think people feel like maybe they already know a whole bunch about celebrities in social media…on social media or such?”
Alyssa Farah Griffin was the first to weigh in on the matter, “I feel like I read Jada's book and I haven't read it. Sometimes I feel like there are so many excerpts up front. You know they lead with the juiciest stuff. What else am I going to find in there?”
“It makes you feel like you don't necessarily need to read it. Some of the best celebrity memoirs aren't the biggest names or name-droppy,” added Griffin.
Sunny Hostin admitted in this segment that as she started reading Jada’s book, she had a “completely different opinion about her now.”
Ana Navarro weighs in on Will and Jada’s relationship
As the segment moved forward, ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro shared her take on Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. Navarro said, “Listen, I am done with the Jada thing and I am done defending Will because Will is out there supporting her.”
“I think Will is being held emotionally prisoner, but you know what? It’s their stuff,” said Navarro, after admitting that she doesn’t want to read Jada’s book.
Navarro added, “I don’t want to give them another dime for her emasculating and embarrassing him to everyone in the world.”
