Amparo Barillas and Glin Zuniga: Mom-son duo ran brothel and paid sex workers based on number of condoms
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA : A 52-year-old woman and her 28-year-old son have been accused of running a brothel out of a South Florida home. The duo was arrested following a probe after authorities received a complaint that 15-year-old girls were being used for sex work. A woman who worked for the duo revealed she was paid by the number of condoms she used.
Detectives used surveillance and undercover "johns" and learned the son, Glin Yan Zuniga Latin, 28, was in charge. The sheriff's office said he had been under suspicion in similar situations before but was never arrested. Detectives later learned Amparo Latin Barillas, 52, was also involved.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the mother was reportedly in charge of working the door and accepting cash payments. According to the arrest affidavit, "johns" would knock on the door and be let in. Then, they'd pay $50 and be handed a card. They'd pick the female sex worker they wanted, go into a room, hand over the card, engage in sexual acts, and leave. The encounters had a 15-minute limit.
The detectives found a 25-year-old woman who told them Barillas asked her to work three days a week, for a pay of $25 per customer. She told detectives she averaged 8-10 customers each day, and was paid by Barillas based on the number of used condoms at the end of her shift.
The woman also told detectives there was another brothel next door, but that was considered a separate business. Detectives believe the mother and son are involved in both businesses, WEPC reported. Bank subpoenas revealed the two made regular cash deposits into their accounts, but there is no evidence they had another income.
The mother and son are both charged with making money from prostitution and maintaining a house of prostitution. Barillas was booked on Thursday afternoon, January 12, and is still being held. Her bond was set at $30,000. Latin was booked on January 6 and spent about 8 hours in jail before being released on a $5,000 bond.
