Joey King, who transformed herself into Gypsy Blanchard for Hulu's crime anthology series, 'The Act,' is excited about the show going live on the streaming site. She took to Instagram to share her excitement and also posted a picture with her onscreen mother Patricia Arquette, who plays the role of Dee Dee Blanchard on the show. The picture, taken during the shooting of the second episode, features the two in their avatars, and King is seen wearing a green screen on her teeth
She revealed a fun fact about the second episode in the picture caption and wrote: "Its premiere day!! First 2 episodes of The Act are on Hulu!! (Fun fact: in episode 2 I had to wear green screened teeth so they could digitally remove them) IM ALSO ON @jimmykimmellive TONIGHT SO PLEASE WATCH!!!! Best day ever."
She also posted an Instagram story with her friends in a car as she was on her way to shoot for 'Jimmy Kimmel live.' King looks ready to take on anything as she and her friend break into a chorus of 'Hulu'.
King's role in 'The Act' is based on the real-life character of Gypsy Blanchard who conspired to murder her mother Dee Dee with the help of her online boyfriend Nick Godejohn in 2015. The two confessed to the police about it when they were tracked down and were charged for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Michelle Dean, one of the writers of the show, wrote an in-depth piece about the truth behind the murder for Buzzfeed, which came out in 2016 and was read by about 5 million people.
