AMC's The Walking Dead has had some pretty gruesome deaths over the years. But if there's one death that creator Rober Kirkman regrets, it's the death of Tyreese in season 5. Robert was recently at the Walker Stalker cruise where he said that he missed Tyreese on the show.
"I mean, I always loved Tyreese. I miss the character a lot in the comics, and it was great getting to write him again for the show, and you know, I thought he was a cool guy. I liked how gentle he was and how ill-equipped for the world he was and what a struggle it was for him to bash people’s heads in with that hammer," Robert said.

Robert created The Walking Dead comic back in 2003 and had no problem with killing people off. In the comics, Tyreese was introduced with Sasha who is played by Sonequa Martin-Green on the show. Tyreese was originally decapitated by The Governor in Issue #46. His comic book death went to Hershel death on the TV series instead. Fans expected Tyreese's character to have more screen time but were shocked to find out that his character faces an untimely death on The Walking Dead's fifth season.
Out of all the deaths on the show, it's interesting to note that Tyreese is the one that's most favored to be back. But wouldn't Carl be the choice for Robert's returning character? In the season 8 mid-season finale, Carl Grimes is bitten by a zombie. The show is known for bringing back people from the dead, so it's only fair to wait it out and see if Carl survives miraculously, or if we'll be seeing the return of Tyreese. The Walking Dead is currently in its eighth season and will be airing again on February 25.
