'The Voice' Season 17: The battle rounds end in a cliffhanger and fans hope James Violet picks John Legend as his coach
'The Voice' Season 17 returned on Monday night and while fans were excited to see which contestant is moving forward to the Knockout Rounds, they aren't happy about the episode ending on a cliffhanger.
On night three of the Battle Rounds, we witnessed some of the best contestants battle it out against each other for a chance to make it to the Knockout Rounds.
However, what left fans triggered is the cliffhanger after Kyndal Inskeep and James Violet's battle performance.
Kyndal and James from Gwen Stefani's team were the final contestants of the night. They battled it out to 'I Could Use a Love Song' by Maren Morris.
Though during the rehearsal's will.i.am was disappointed with both singers for not memorizing the song and still singing it out of the paper, they did a massive turnover during the battles and aced their performance.
The main part that stood out during the battles was how their different tones complimented their duet and made it enjoyable. Kyndal had a better vocal range than James.
When it came to deciding the winner, Gwen stuck to her gut and chose Kyndal as the winner, which left James up for grabs.
Ready to steal James, John Legend pushed his button to steal him, while Gwen also pushed her button to save him. It was a tough decision for James because he was clearly torn while making the decision.
Right when he was about to make the call, the episode ended, not revealing who James picked as his coach. This cliffhanger threw fans off, who have claimed that this is wrongdoing.
They also took to social media to hope James ends up with John as he is a "better coach than Gwen".
"That is SO wrong! Lol. I hope I can sleep tonight!!," wrote a fan while another added, "Y’all r so wrong for making us wait, tomorrow is too far away."
"Wow the battles tonight were all amazing! I think if I was James I’d have to go with @johnlegend," shared a fan. Another fan added, "Hope james picks John legend...he will go further with him..gwen managed to insult two of her team members tonight..."
"Wow y'all Really just did that!?!" a fan commented and another said, "Man, why!!!!!!!! Fine I'm going to bed."
With a majority of fans hoping James ends up joining John Legend's team, we will have to wait till the series returns on Tuesday night to see who he picked.
