'The Society' is returning for a second season, and here's what we think will happen to Allie and Will

From domestic violence and teenage pregnancy to classism and political structures, the show outdid the parameters of a regular young adult show.

It feels like a lucky day because Netflix just announced the return of their hit young adult thriller show 'The Society'. Created by Christopher Keyser, the teen mystery follows a group of teenagers, who after being mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their posh New England town (West Ham) must figure out a way to live cooperatively, survive without killing or getting killed – which is pretty tricky on 'The Society' – and most importantly, figure out a way to get back home, in one piece.

Netflix hasn't revealed a release date for the second season as of now, but have promised the show comes back next year in 2020. Well, to be honest, we never really doubted the show returning for a second season – Netflix teased its show's fans for a good two months before announcing the renewal. The series not only became popular among audiences, but it also explored some very complex subjects through its ten-episode run.

From domestic violence and teenage pregnancy to classism and political structures, the show outdid the parameters that make a young adult show.

There are just so many unanswered questions: Who is the real father of Becca's (played by Gideon Adlon) baby? Will Lexie (played by Grace Victoria Cox) meet the fate she really deserves? Will all of New Ham be taken over by fascism? Is there any scope for socialism to survive? Will Sam (played by Sean Berdy) and Grizz (Jack Mulhern) reunite with each other? What will happen to Elle (played by Olivia DeJonge)? Will Harry succeed in heading the town? What is the situation with the dog?

Which brings us to the most crucial questions left unanswered at the end of the first season.

Allie (played by Kathryn Newton) and Will (played by Jacques Colimon) are taken captive by the Guards – under the tutelage of New Ham's resident psychopath Campbell Eliot (played by Toby Wallace). There is no doubt that Campbell is going to take complete advantage of this situation and could take over the town in a terrifying manner.

However, a key character in this situation could be Helena. Armed with her influence as a religious leader, Helena still doesn't know that the Guards, which includes her fiance Luke (played by Alexander MacNicoll), have lied to her about the democratic elections being rigged. It remains to be seen what will happen once she finds out the truth, but we know it is not going to be good.
