'Game of Thrones' season 8: Sansa Stark has a perfect set up for her big brother Jon Snow to take the Iron Throne
Spoilers for 'Game of Thrones' season 8 episode 4 ahead...
In 'Game of Thrones' season 8 episode 4, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) decided to trust his family - Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) - and revealed the truth about who he was. He explained that he was not an illegitimate child, but the son of Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) and Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi). He believed that his sisters would not break their promise and tell this to anyone.
He even stood up for them when Daenerys pointed out that revealing the truth about himself would bring forth something he wouldn't be able to control and as a result would sabotage her claim to the throne.
After all, he is the last legal 'male' heir to the throne, so even if he isn't interested in ruling, there will be supporters who would rebel against a queen. Sansa, who has always been against the Dragon queen, decides there is no better chance than this to get what she wants - freedom for the North.
If Daenerys were to lose temper and 'dracarys' everyone out of existence when they refuse to 'bend their knee', things will get complicated for the Northerners who want nothing but to remain free and be ruled by the King of the North - Jon.
Sansa also realizes what power can become in the hands of someone like Daenerys, because she has seen people change up close when she was in King's Landing. She broke her promise to secure a future for herself and her people. And in the end, she revealed it to Tyrion after asking him 'What if there was someone better?' This despite understanding that her brother is in love with Daenerys, despite knowing that he has never been interested in being a ruler. This shows how Sansa is ready to do anything to make sure that what she went through stops with her.
Sansa's role doesn't stop with revealing the truth about Jon Snow to Tyrion. In one scene, when Jaime approaches Brienne of Tarth and Sansa, the two can be heard discussing what happened with Daenerys's army that sailed to the Red Keep and we catch the end of the conversation where she mentions the ministers - Varys, Tyrion - taking sides.
She stops speaking once Jaime comes closer, but we now know that Tyrion is probably keeping Sansa informed despite being bull-headed about supporting Daenerys over Jon when Varys brings up the possibility of helping Jon take the throne.
We also know that Sansa and Tyrion have feelings for each other, probably not romantic, but they understand each other. If their partnership were to continue, we can expect some interesting twists in the last two episodes of 'Game of Thrones'. And if Jon does see how problematic Daenerys' rule could be, then Sansa has set it all up perfectly for him to betray Daenerys and claim the throne.
