Mark Howerton has been accused of raping and murdering his girlfriend, who was only a teenager, and he claimed that she died while they were having "rough sex".
According to detectives, the man already has a history of violence and he has now been formally charged with the sexual assault and murder of his 19-year-old cheerleader girlfriend Cayley Mandadi.
MySA reported that court documents have shown the weeks that led up to the student's death in October 2017 were violent.
She died in the hospital on October 31st and according to her psychopathic boyfriend, she died because they had a night of "rough sex".
The police and the doctors, though, say that the injuries on her body were a lot more consistent with "physical and violent sexual assault" instead of the story Howerton kept saying.
Affidavits have accounts by Mandadi's friends who have described that previous incidents were violent.
One of the reports had a friend that said she had seen bruises on Mandadi's legs at an earlier incident and that the cheerleader had admitted that they were caused by Howerton.
Documents revealed that the same person also said that she had gone once with Mandadi to get her cell phone back from Howerton but he became highly aggressive and pulled a gun out of the glove box of his car and even threatened to shoot people with it.
Other witnesses told the authorities that 22-year-old Howerton had at one point allegedly slammed his girlfriend's head against the window of a car.
In September 2017, it was reported that he also destroyed her dorm room that she was staying in at the Trinity University.
Madini's friends also told the investigators that they thought Howerton was abusing and dealing anabolic steroids and the excuse he gave for wrecking her dorm room was "roid rage". He was then banned from the campus.
John T. Hunter, Howerton's attorney, said that his client had turned himself into the authorities on March 1 afternoon.
He said: "Mr. Howerton maintains his innocence, and we ask the public to honour the presumption of his innocence."
"He turned himself in because that's what a responsible citizen does if there's a warrant out for his arrest."
