After seven years, Sade is back with new music. Surprisingly, it's thank to Disney. When director/screenwriter Ava DuVernay approached Sade to create an original song for Disney's upcoming film, A Wrinkle In Time, she got the shock of her life when the Nigerian-British singer said yes!
“I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway,” DuVernay said in a tweet announcing the song. “She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”
Now, ahead of the film’s release this Friday, Sade’s new song, titled 'Flower of the Universe' has made its way online, courtesy of producer No I.D. Listen to the new song below:
DuVernay also shared the new track online at midnight (Mar 6). “A late-night treat for all you Flowers of the Universe. My thanks to No I.D. And thank you to Sade. You are a queen and a visionary and we love you,” the Golden Globe-nominated director wrote on Twitter.
Along with Sade, the soundtrack for 'A Wrinkle in Time' boasts A-list contributions from the likes of Sia, Kehlani, Demi Lovato, DJ Khaled and Chloe + Halle among others. The music for the film is directed by Ramin Djawadi, the legend who gave us the instant goosebumps delivering theme from Game of Thrones. The OST is out on Friday (March 9), the same day the film hits theaters. You can pre-order the OST here.
