Jay-Z and Beyonce joint tour dates for 'On The Run 2' announced and then retracted

After months of rumors, it seems like Beyoncé and Jay-Z have announced a joint tour. Or have they? Things are a little blurry.

Early morning today (March 5), right after Childish Gambino announced his much-awaited tour, Beyonce's Facebook page (along with the Ticketmaster page) announced a date for the tour, on July 30 at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. But the updates on Queen Bey's 'events' page on Facebook were quick to disappear too, leaving fans speculating as to what is really happening. Here's a screenshot of the now deleted update from facebook:

The original joint 'On the Run Tour' which took place in 2014 took its name from Jay-Z's twelfth studio album, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' and arrived on the heels of Beyoncé's critically acclaimed self-titled 2013 album, which of course featured the timeless classic 'Drunk in Love.'

As NME points out, there has also been speculation over a joint UK tour after eagle-eyed fans spotted a new landing page for ‘Beyoncé and Jay Z tickets’ on Ticketmaster’s UK site. The page was deleted shortly, but screengrabs were shared across social media.

If the sequel to the tour is indeed happening, the timing couldn't be more perfect. In the years since the original run, Bey and Jay have dropped two more critically acclaimed albums - while Beyonce dropped the visual album Lemonade in 2016, last year saw Jay release '4:44'.

The pair also collaborated on the track 'Family Feud,' for Jay's album and even released the music video recently which featured actors Michael B Jordan and Jessica Chastain among others. The power couple also appeared together on a new DJ Khaled single 'Top Off', where Jay-Z didn't hold back as he launched a spitfire verse against George Zimmerman. Watch both the music videos below:
